Uber ride to IIHS

After working with a Non profit organisation for a year in New Delhi, I then moved back to Punjab in May this year. I applied for the Urban fellowship and was not really sure if I’ll make through. And it happened. I got my confirmation email and I was all set for another year in Bangalore.

Here in Bangalore, I live with other 14 fellows, in Men’s PG in Sanjaynagar. However, the classes happen at IIHS, Bangalore city campus which is located in Sadashiv nagar. A distance of odd 5 kms, which I daily cover majorly using Uber, auto rickshaw at times and bicycle when fellows have brought cycles back in PG but are not ready to take them back to IIHS.

Usually when I’m travelling on Uber with fellows, we tend to take UberGo(a car that accomodates only 4 people). Sometimes there are 6 of us who have to travel together. And we book UberXL. I shot this video on one of those days, when we booked UberXL and I had to sit in the trunk of the car because of less space.

Travelling is one of those times in the day, when I’m just observing. Usually there is no lens through which I tend to see things around. Traffic of vehicles, people, buildings, birds & animals just passing by.

I’ve been listening to Tajdar Junaid alot these days as well. The background score is called Yaadon ki Pari. Do let me know how do you like this one.

Peace

Malleswaram

As a part of our Practica we will be working in our neighbourhood. This short film is from the first visit that we had last week. There are two sites in the neighbourhood on  which we are suppose to work. This film is from Malleswaram, Bangalore.

Malleswaram is a north-western neighbourhood in Bangalore city. It was developed as a planned suburb after the great plague of 1898, which caused many people to move out of the city center. It derives its name from the Kaadu Malleshwara temple.
